Industry · Aged Care

Protecting the
most vulnerable.

Aged care residents face the highest infection risks of any cohort in the community. UV-C sanitisation reaches the surfaces and air that traditional cleaning cannot, with no chemical residue and no exposure to vulnerable lungs.

Industry Context

Built for the realities of residential aged care

Single-room outbreaks become facility-wide outbreaks in days. UV Sterile works alongside your existing cleaning team to deliver hospital-grade disinfection of resident rooms, common areas, dining halls, treatment rooms, and shared bathrooms — fast, residue-free, and ready for re-entry within minutes.

Pathogens of Concern

What we're treating, specifically.

01

Influenza & RSV

Peak winter exposure in shared dining and lounge spaces.

02

Norovirus

Highly transmissible via surfaces and aerosols in communal bathrooms.

03

MRSA & C. difficile

Persistent on bedrails, call buttons, and high-touch fixtures.

04

COVID-19 variants

Continues to drive workforce absence and resident hospitalisation.

Use Cases

How UV Sterile fits your operation.

Outbreak response

We mobilise within hours. UV-C treats affected rooms, corridors, and shared facilities so isolation can be lifted faster and staff exposure reduced.

Resident room turnaround

Between admissions, after a respiratory illness, or following a discharge — full-room disinfection in under 15 minutes.

Dining and common areas

Treat lounge furniture, dining tables, hymn books, communal remotes, and assistive equipment between service periods.

Treatment & medication rooms

Surfaces, trolleys, and cabinet exteriors get residue-free disinfection without disrupting clinical stock.

Compliance

Aged care infection prevention.

Our service complements your obligations under the Aged Care Quality Standards (Standard 3: Personal and clinical care). We provide treatment logs and an itemised report of every space treated, dwell time, and operator on site — useful evidence for accreditation visits and outbreak documentation.

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Can residents remain in the facility during treatment?

Yes — residents are simply moved out of the specific room or area being treated. Treatment is fast (typically under 15 minutes per room) and the space is safe to re-enter immediately after the unit is powered down.

Will UV-C damage furniture, fittings, or equipment?

At our exposure times, no. UV-C affects DNA-level pathogens, not material structure. Prolonged exposure can fade some plastics over years of daily use — not relevant for periodic disinfection.

How does this fit with our existing cleaning contract?

We work alongside, not instead of, your cleaning team. UV-C is added at the end of a standard clean to kill what wiping can leave behind — particularly in cracks, on porous surfaces, and on items that are awkward to wipe.

Can you respond to an active outbreak after hours?

Yes. We carry overnight and weekend response. Call 0417 631 743 directly for outbreak callouts.

Ready to start? Or just have a question?

Call us, email us, or book online. We respond within one business day, faster for outbreak callouts.
